So, I thought I would just take a few minutes to put down a few of my thoughts/ideas for the big day in January. As I mentioned above, I would really love to make our January (Super Bowl month!) event to be focused around collecting a football field's length worth of ponytails. We're all Colts fans, right? So tying this all together sounds like a lot of fun to me! GO COLTS!
So, I was thinking there were a couple of ways that we could do the ponytail cutting....we could cut each others (fun!) or, we could have people we know who are currently battling CA and/or who have been through this battle in the past be our ponytail cutters. Then, it would be cool to have something "visual" to add to or take away from as we "cut" to show how close we are to meeting our goal.
Next, we are going to need several stylists to volunteer their time to cut some cute short haircuts! Pantene accepts cash donations used for expenses involved in processing the hair and making the wigs, so I thought each person getting a cut from our stylists could make a cash donation to Pantene.
Other thoughts: T-shirts to commemorate the day, a raffle, having food and drinks available, gift bags for hair donators, photos, music, a couple of speakers?, reps from cancer treatment centers, reps from other non-profit organizations related to women's cancer/health issues.
